Project Spotlight I The Star Sydney

Commercial Craft at Architectural Scale

Within Sydney’s skyline, Star Sydney stands as one of the most ambitious luxury developments in the country. Designed as a landmark destination that merges hospitality, dining and resort living, the project demanded furnishings that could operate at both architectural scale and intimate refinement.

For Raffine, the collaboration represented more than supply. It was an exercise in integration. Each piece needed to respond to spatial presence, material performance and the expectations of ultra luxury hospitality.

Our commercial portfolio spans resort environments, fine dining spaces and curated public interiors. The Star Sydney project reflects this philosophy in practice, where aesthetic precision and long-term durability must coexist seamlessly.

Designing for Presence

Across private suites, fine dining environments and resort spaces, Raffine supplied bespoke furnishings designed to anchor each setting with quiet authority.

Custom curved sectional seating was developed for fine dining environments, softening architectural lines while reinforcing spatial flow. Sculptural profiles ensured visual continuity, while tailored upholstery selections delivered both comfort and performance.

Outdoor poolside lounges were engineered for durability without compromising visual impact. Exposure to climate, moisture and high usage required materials that could endure while maintaining refinement.

Each element was considered not only for appearance, but for how it would perform across time.

Material Precision

Detailed sampling and prototyping formed a critical part of the process. Exact colour and texture requirements were achieved through collaboration, ensuring materials aligned precisely with the broader architectural palette.

Brass detailing introduced warmth and subtle luminosity. Marble selections grounded spaces with permanence and weight. Tailored upholstery provided tactile contrast against stone and metal surfaces.

These materials were not decorative additions. They were structural decisions that informed atmosphere and longevity.

Integration Beyond Standard Pieces

Across the project, Raffine delivered custom Amelia benches and banquette seating, designed to align with architectural joinery and spatial rhythm. Made to measure armchairs were specified for lobby and glass fronted commercial areas where proportion and silhouette were critical.

Dining chairs were selected and adapted for high use restaurant settings, balancing ergonomic comfort with structural resilience. Marble coffee tables and feature stone pieces reinforced visual weight within transitional spaces.

Recurring throughout the installation were curved forms, sculptural silhouettes and architectural proportions. These elements echo Raffine’s refined yet contemporary aesthetic while ensuring each piece responded directly to its environment.

Process as Foundation

Every commercial project follows a considered process from consultation through to installation.

Coordination with production schedules and installation timelines ensured seamless delivery within a complex development environment. Alignment between aesthetic intent and commercial durability remained central throughout.

Ultra luxury hospitality requires more than visual impact. It demands consistency, resilience and precision.

A Commitment to Enduring Design

The collaboration with the Star Sydney demonstrates Raffine’s capacity to operate within landmark developments while maintaining design integrity.

Commercial spaces of this scale require furniture that feels intentional and enduring. Pieces must complement architecture, withstand performance demands and contribute meaningfully to the guest experience.

At Raffine, each project is approached with the same philosophy. Considered design. Tailored solutions. Long term performance.

As our commercial portfolio continues to expand across hospitality and resort environments, the focus remains constant. Furniture should integrate seamlessly into architecture while elevating how a space is experienced.
